FAQs

Cancellation Policy & Refund Policy?

All orders are finalized and sent to our kitchen team by noon every Friday. Once orders have been finalized and sent to our kitchen team we will be unable to cancel any meal delivery that is scheduled for Monday (1st delivery of the week). If a customer would like to cancel Thursday delivery (2nd delivery of the week) they must inform our customer support team by midnight Tuesday. We understand that our customers may have a sudden change in schedule and we do our best to accommodate, but if there is a request to cancel an order after the deadline, it is entirely up to the LUM to decide if it is possible to accommodate the request.

Our product is a perishable item and once meals have been delivered to a pick up location or home address there will be no refunds issued for those meals.  Refunds will only be issued for orders which have been cancelled prior to the deadline which is explained above.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us at paleo@levelupmeals.com.

When do you deliver to my home?

**Attention**

We would like to minimize the hassle on your end, therefore, we deliver in the dead of night and place your meals directly at the front door in a special cold bag which will keep perishable items at a safe temperature for hours. When checking out please be sure to provide us with any access codes or special instructions that we would need to make a successful delivery. If we are unable to access your residence for any reason we will deliver your meals to our partnered pick-up location nearest you.

If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us at paleo@levelupmeals.com.

What if I have a food allergy?

If you have been diagnosed with a food allergy, or believe yourself to be allergic to a certain ingredient found in our entrees, please notify us at the time of your order by emailing paleo@levelupmeals.com.  In most cases, we can adjust or substitute the meals you receive and are happy to discuss your needs with you to ensure we can provide you meals that work for you. While our meals contain no gluten or dairy, our goods may contain  tree nuts, shellfish, and eggs among other ingredients.  Please also be advised that all of our entrees are prepared in kitchens that handle all of our ingredients, so there is always a possibility that some cross contamination may occur. Additionally, our meals may be produced in close proximity to these ingredients as well as dairy or wheat. If you have a serious food allergy that could be life threatening we cannot recommend our product for you.

Are your meal containers recyclable?

Yes, our meal containers are recyclable and microwave safe.

How much weight will I lose?

This is entirely dependent on how many meals you receive from us, what you eat on your non-Level UP days and how much exercise you do. We recommend losing weight at a safe pace of one to two pounds per week. Your results may vary.

Can you deliver to my gym?

If you’re in the area, we’d love to! Shoot us an email if you’re interested and we’ll reach out to the owner at your place.

What if I don’t pick up my meals?

Our mission is to ensure that your meals are FRESH and conveniently available to you. We strongly suggest that you enjoy your meals as we deliver. To accommodate varying schedules, we will leave your meals in the delivery locations for one week. For health and safety of our customers, Level UP will remove meals a week after they have been delivered if they are not picked up.

Do I have to be a member of the location to pick up my meals?

No, you don’t have to member of the location you choose to pick up your meals. Level Up refrigerators are placed in an accessible spot inside of each gym.

Are the meals refrigerated at the drop off locations? How do I find my food?

Each pick up location has a Level Up refrigerator in an accessible place, where your fresh meals are delivered to on Monday and Thursday mornings. Remember, you don’t have to be a member of the pickup location to have your meals delivered there, so if you’re not sure where to go, feel free to ask a gym employee where to find the Level Up refrigerator.

What are the hours for pickup at delivery locations?

Pickup hours are whenever the gym you’re picking up from is open for business. Reminder, membership is not a requirement.

When are meals delivered?

Meals are delivered every Monday and Thursday morning before 7 A.M.

Five-day meal orders are delivered Mondays and Thursdays. Monday deliveries include Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday meals. Thursday deliveries include Thursday and Friday meals.

Three-day meal orders are delivered Mondays only and include Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday meals.

What happens when I place my order after Thursday midnight?

If you place your order after midnight and want your meals delivered the following Monday, send us an email at paleo@levelupmeals.com and we will do what we can to accommodate you. If we are unable to accommodate your request, your meals will be delivered the 2nd Monday after your order was placed.

What’s your order deadline each week?

We ask that you place orders by midnight Thursday for delivery the following Monday.

Can I freeze my account? How do I make changes to my order (cancel, delivery location update, etc.)?

Simply email us at paleo@levelupmeals.com to make this change and we will respond within 1 day or most often sooner to confirm the change. Please submit any changes to preferences or modifications to order by midnight on Thursday for them to take effect the following week.

How will I be billed?

You will be billed weekly. If you are a recurring customer, billing will renew automatically each week on the same day of the week as the original order unless you send an email to put on hold or cancel by Thursday at midnight the week prior to delivery. For example, if you order on a Sunday, you will be billed the following Sunday for the week thereafter however you still have until that Thursday at midnight to change or suspend your order. We are always able to refund money if needed for holds or cancellations as long as we get the notification before Thursday at midnight.

Do your meals contain pork?

No, none of our meals contain any pork or pork by-products. There are two reasons for this; First, we try to bring you the healthiest, best quality natural meats that are high in nutrition, and also to accommodate our customers who do not to eat pork.

Do your meals contain sugar and salt?

We balance our meals with the just enough seasoning to bring out the full flavor of each dish. This means minimal sodium and no refined sugars. On occasion we use low amounts of carefully sourced, whole, natural sugars such as honey, molasses, maple syrup, and agave. You can always request meals with these ingredients be excluded from your plan and we will replace that meal with another meal we are delivering that week.

What are your portion sizes?

Our meals are made for a single person. Portion sizes are built around an average caloric count with a balance of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. Our portion sizes tend to be large and filling relative to other prepared meal providers. Each meal contains 6 oz. of protein from meat, 2 or more servings of fruits and vegetables, and 1 or more services of nuts or seeds.

How do I heat the meals?

Each meal includes serving instructions on the container. We generally do not recommend reheating meals in the microwave, but we always include microwave instructions for convenience — we know sometimes you just can’t get to a pan or oven at your lunch break!

All meals that require heating can be done quickly in the containers they arrive in by using a microwave oven or easily transferred for a conventional oven or a skillet. Stirring occasionally during whatever cooking process you use will accelerate and evenly distribute the heating process. We recommend microwaving containers for 1 – 2 minutes depending on the power of your microwave and nature of the dish.

How and when should I eat my meals?

Whenever you like! Sometimes, we go wild and eat them for breakfast and sometimes we eat our lunches for dinner and vice versa.

We do not recommend eating fruits with the entire meal. The stomach uses different enzymes for digesting both fruits and vegetables. We recommend that you treat the fruit in your meal as a dessert, eaten shortly after you’ve finished the rest of the meal.

Are your meals ever frozen?

No. Our meals are never frozen. You can freeze them if you need to keep them for more than a few days, but we deliver twice a week to ensure freshness.

I don’t eat certain things. What do I do?

Send us an email at paleo@levelupmeals.com and tell us what you don’t want in your meals. We’ll place you in “standing substitution” list so that those ingredients never appear in you delivered meals.

Can I substitute my meals?

Yes, you can substitute your meals from the weekly menu. However, any meal that you are substituting, must be replaced with a meal that is either within the first or second delivery period. The first week’s deliveries are made for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday meals and the second delivery is made for Thursday and Friday meals. This means that if you would like to substitute a Monday-Wednesday lunch, it can only be substituted with another lunch in the Monday-Wednesday delivery.

Are Level Up Meals fully organic?

All of our ingredients are locally sourced and organic when available. Our weekly menu is seasonal, meaning we create our meals from fruits and veggies that are in season that week. Sometimes, certain organic produce is just not available, but we do our best to plan each week’s meal around organic produce that is.

All of our proteins are locally sourced and organic as possible (Cage-free poultry and eggs, antibiotic-and-hormone-free beef & thoughtfully sourced seafood).

How do you determine what ingredients qualify as Paleo for the meals?

We tend to be on the “stricter” end of the paleo range simply so that you have a clear starting point from our meals and can riff around them to your situation or take on What’s Paleo.

So meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts. No dairy, grains, legumes, artificial sweeteners (on occasions we might use honey, agave, molasses or maple syrup), no preservatives.

What does Paleo mean?

The Paleo diet promotes healthy, fresh, organic eating.

For our Paleo-inspired meal plan, we stay away from legumes, white potatoes, corn, bread, wheat, and most other grains including any that contain gluten. We do include fruit time to time and, on occasion, we’ll also use yams and sparing amounts of natural sweeteners such as honey.  We do not use any processed food in our meals, and they are always made in fresh, in season produce.  Please contact us with any specific dietary requests and we’ll let you know if we can assist.
